Saarmund residential building

On behalf of DAHEIM in Saarmund Wohnungsbau GmbH, KAMPA is building a residential complex near Potsdam in the standard Efficiency House 40 Plus with a large floor area of 6300 m². On four floors, 98 barrier-free apartments of between 40 and 86 square meters of living space are being built using timber construction. The Timber Structure in Building Class 4 is being built on an underground car park. A flat roof, spacious windows, presented balconies and contrasting wooden facades characterize the modern design of the building. Two months are planned for the actual assembly time of the timber structure.

A total of 1200 m³ of structural timber was used in the ceilings and 395 m³ in the walls. This allows approximately 1,600 tons of CO2 to be stored permanently. The wood required for the construction project grows back in German forests in just about 15 minutes. The entire wooden elements were prefabricated in around 5 weeks of production and the 4 floors were erected in just 3 months.
